Congratulations to Sean and Tracy who completed the London Marathon last Sunday, 2nd October!
They were both running to raise much needed funds for Katharine House Hospice. They both completed the 26.2 miles in excellent time with Tracy finishing in 3 hours 46 and Sean coming in at 4 hours 1 minute after picking up an injury. Speaking of the event, Sean said:
"Despite the aching muscles, inability to climb and descend stairs and in my case, missing toenails, Tracy and I were thrilled to complete the London Marathon last Sunday.
It is an amazing personal a achievement for us both especially to compete it in such respectable times. Training for a marathon involves months of personal sacrifice with long runs at unsociable hours and worse still, not being able to have a beer or glass on wine on a Friday before the weekend long run! However, the opportunity to raise vital funds for Katharine House Hospice has kept us going. The Hospice has cared for people we know personally and we are aware of the incredible work the staff carry out for the local community.
We set out to raise around £3000. We are just under £5000 at present and are overwhelmed at the donations and support received. Much of that has come from the staff and clients of Pickering & Butters. I would like to thank the partners in particular for their incredibly large and generous donation. We are delighted that the firm’s long association with the Hospice has enabled us to smash our target.
We all like nice round figures so as a cheeky ‘plug’, if anyone would like to get us to £5000 you can donate via this link!"
